City have a long-running reputation for never doing things the easy way, but once Paul Stewart had finally made his mark against his old club with the tie’s opening goal home nerves settled, however Stewart went on to miss a penalty at 1-1 when Hinchcliffe was brought down in the box.
It was City’s third successive FA Cup tie in a demanding ten day period, but the boy blues superbly overcame that pressure and the grit of their 3rd Division opponents, to keep the pot boiling in a game where Steve Redmond was named Star Man.
