City were up against it from the start at Blackburn, bidding to stretch their unbeaten run to 20 League games.
But Blackburn needed a third minute blunder by City’s on-loan debut keeper Mike Stowell to take the lead.
He allowed a harmless shot from Simon Garner to get past him. Imre Varadi gave the Blues hope with a goal after 62 minutes but Blackburn were back for their second goal from Chris Price after 77 minutes.
