Manchester City’s hopes of reaching the promotion play-offs were dealt a killer blow at Oakwell today.
the Blues crashed to a disastrous 3-1 defeat by Barnsley and one of their former players sent them on the way to defeat.
Joe Joyce had given Alan Clarke’s side a third minute lead before Maine Road old boy John Beresford put them two up after 15 minutes.
Imre Varadi pulled one back in the 43rd minute, but disaster struck nine minutes into the second half when Andy Hinchcliffe put through his own goal.
Neil McNab was sent off in the last minute after a bad challenge on Barnsley player Paul Cross.
