In a low key friendly arranged as part of City’s pre-season training camp in Germany Mark Hughes used plenty of the academy players in an attempt to see how they would perform against a decent German side.
With only Ireland, Zabaleta, Petrov and Bojinov expected to appear in Mark Hughes first Premiership 18, City fell behind to an excellent free-kick from Alexander Ludwig.
After the break Valeri Bojinov pounced on to a pass from Weiss to score the equaliser, and there were promising displays down the right from Kieran Trippier and Vlad Weiss.
