Andy May’s dismissal was the black mark of the night and there were also bookings for Paul Power and David Cross in a tough encouter which started with a 2nd minute shock for the Blues. That’s when Valerenga took the lead through their international Vidar Davidson.
City levelled the score in the 27th minute through Power and the skipper pounced for another goal 4 minutes later while the hosts were still reeling. lt looked like being a good night for young May, too, when he popped in the third goal, supplied by Cross in the ‘ 41st minute.
But the game toughened up considerably and May got his marching orders for a tackle on Eric Foss.
Asa Hartford provided most of the Blues sparkle, while Power was also prominent in the first period.
