Veteran defender Tommy Booth is back in the Manchester City first team spotlight.
As manager John Bond dangles the axe for Saturday’s visit to Birmingham, Booth could be back in the reckoning along with the boss’s son Kevin.
Both men played in a reshaped back four from which Ray Ranson and Bobby McDonald were dropped as the Blues beat Norwegian First Division leaders Rosenberg 3-0 last night.
… Dennis Tueart scored twice and Trevor Francis got the other in a competent display from a side without Gerry Gow and Paul Power.
… Clive Wilson made his senior debut as a second half substitute for Phil Boyer, McDonald replacing Kevin Reeves 10 minutes from the end…
