BUSY LEE HEADS BACK TO THE TOP

Manchester City are past masters at racing from behind to reap belated glory.
They pulled off another face-saving act when snatching a point that at one stage looked beyond their reach at Nottingham where a late sprint saw the Blues dramatically bounce back and wipe out Forest’s two goal lead.
Yet they could easily have won by a distance had they adopted the same sort of aggression at the start. Forest were by no means two goals the better side after an hour of a tame game that only got moving when City pressed the starter.
Then that was the signal for a fine double scoring burst from Francis Lee, who felled Forest with two in six minutes.
And hot-shot Lee did the trick, with a double header. It was just the tonic for City, and for Lee, who can now put that lean spell well behind him.
He was City’s busiest forward and with better support could easily have doubled his score to give City the victory their superiority over 90 minutes just about warranted.
City’s best patch was in the first half, when they out smarted Forest with some classy football.
Unfortunately they lacked the killer punch that they were to reveal later, but it was Forest who undeservedly went ahead ahead with a spectacular Ian Moore goal.
Yet it had been City’s flair and fluent football that had taken the eye although Lee eventually saw to it that justice was done.
Apart from the City leader, Glyn Pardoe and Alan Oakes worked unceasingly, although there was not the same drive on the wing. No real grumbles, however. Any away point is a good one, especially when it is achieved in such a fighting, determined manner.
