PETER GARDNER WRITING IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS 2ND APRIL 1975
Tony Book today threatened Manchester City players that he is ready to become a “bully boss.” His hard-line warning came after a gritty performance by the Blues in the 2-1 defeat at Derby last night.
Said Book: “They showed me what they are capable of doing at the Baseball Ground. If they can do it in one game they must be capable of doing it in 35.”
… We must carry on where we left off at Derby… There is nothing wrong with our tactics so far as I am concerned. Maybe we shall have to take a much tougher line with more bullying to get the best out of the players…”
