Manchester City keeper Eric Nixon celebrated his first team return with a super show at Selhurst Park. But he couldn’t stop the Blues sliding to a 2-0 defeat with Gavin Nebbeling putting the skids under Mel Machin’s men with a goal after 70 minutes.
And it was all over for City when Geoff Thomas made it two, five minutes later.
