COLIN BELL SCORES CITY’S WINNER

burnley away 1966-67 bell winning goal

It looked an odds on win for Burnley as they were unbeaten at home as City visited them with only one win on their travels so far this season.
It was indeed Burnley who dominated the first half, however totally against the run of play City went 1-0 up in the 34th minute, as Johnny Crossan converted a Mike Summerbee cross.
In the second half Burnley continued to press and got their rewards in the 58th minute with an equaliser from Willie Irvine.
City then went on the offensive and Johnny Crossan scored his second, but it was cancelled out again as Willie Morgan equalised at 2-2.
Colin Bell was the Blues hero as he grabbed the winner in the 87th miute to give City a memorable 3-2 win.
