  1. I remember going to this. Setting off from the social club at Maine Road about midnight on the Friday . Could this have been one of Paddy’s coaches?Encountered a load of rags at Forton services. They were playing a friendly at Celtic. We got to Glasgow in the early hours and some of the lads vaulted the gates of Hampden park and had a kick around on the pitch. then up to Aberdeen for the game and back to Manchester, arriving mid afternoon. The following Friday we were doing the same again, except this time heading to Southampton for our opening league game, which we drew .Great days. It was a lad called Macca from Prestwich who tipped me off about the trips. I wore a top ha t in sky blue/white/maroon in those days . Would love to hear from anyone who was on the trip.
