REPORT FROM THE SUNDAY MIRROR 21ST FEBRUARY 1982
The moment young Alistair Dick will remember for the rest of his life, the moment he became a Spurs hero.
The 16 year old Scot, called up for his debut against Manchester City yesterday, played a big part in Spurs second goal, and revelled in the moment.
He forced the corner which Glenn Hoddle scored his second goal. And while scoring League goals is old hat to Hoddle, being involved is a magic new experience by young Ally.
But if Master Dick was delighted, City boss John Bond certainly didn’t have a happy day.
He was fuming about about Hoddles first goal, a 59th minute penalty, “a diabolical decision,” he said.
Judge for yourselves on ITV’s Big Match today.
“I’ve seen it twice on television, and if it was a penalty, I’ll show you my backside,” he added.
Let’s hope we don’t see that on television!
