FROM AN ARTICLE BY JOHN MADDOCKS, PUBLISHED IN THE CITY PROGRAMME 22ND OCTOBER 1984
Middlesbrough was the next port of call and once again we came home licking our wounds, losing 1-2. With the benefit of a gale force wind behind us in the first half, we went in only one goal to the good, the fit again Kinsey giving City the lead with a neat shot.
Boro manager Willie Maddren later expressed his relief that City only had a one-goal advantage at the turn-round, and the Teesiders forced the pace after the break to score twice. Otto back-headed the ball to Mills who equalised after a 25 yard run, and the same player won the game when Mowbray set him up from close range with 15 minutes left.
