Manchester City were left high and dry in a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Maine Road.
The Blues were hit by a late goal from Paul Merson after a fast and furious game in which chances were few and far between.
But City should have been on target when Niall Quin blasted over the bar after Mike Sheron had put him in the clear scoring position.
