JEFF HODGSON WRITING IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS FOOTBALL PINK FINAL 17TH OCTOBER 1992
Manchester City forgot their shooting boots when they drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The Blues survived an opening onslaught from Palace, but after the break looked more likely to score.
Flitcroft drove well over the bar and then Steve McMahon had to clear an Eddie McGoldrick header off the line.
City looked certain to be awarded a penalty when Eric Young clearly pushed Niall Quinn in the box but the referee waved play on.
