My poor performance in the game would lead to me being dropped for the first time that season.
We were 1-0 down and I came out for a cross I had no chance of collecting. I dropped the ball, presenting Coventry with a simple chance to make it 2-0. Malcolm had instilled in me that, with my size, I should make every ball that came within range of our penalty area mine. I admit I might have taken that advice a little too literally on occasion and this was one of them.
…I got a grilling from Mike Summerbee, who wasn’t impressed by my efforts, and other members of the team also lambasted me.
