REPORT FROM THE MANCHESTER CITY OFFICIAL HANDBOOK 1992/93
No-one in the City camp begrudged Adrian Heath his claim to being the night’s two-goal hero. Rangers‘ skipper Ray Wilkins, too fine a sportsman himself to argue the point, might well have touched the ball after Heath for the second goal. But it really did not matter, one was enough for Heath to silence the jokers who had taunted him for the 14 months since he had last found the back of net.
So Heath’s goals were a major talking point int, that apart, it was a fine team performance at Loftus Road. City, with Tony Coton again in superb form, had given Rangers a goal start but had come from behind to teach them a basic lesson in attacking skills. After such a convincing away victory City returned to Maine Road with a growing confidence that this could be their year again in the Rumbelows League Cup.
