FROM THE PRESS BOX

REPORT FROM BEDFORDSHIRE ON SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 1991
Luton played their full part in an entertaining game at Kenilworth Road yesterday but, despite being twice ahead, they were denied the victory they so desperately need at the moment.
They just might have secured it had Redmond not cynically brought down Stein on the edge of the box in the dying minutes. The Manchester City player was rightly sent off but the free kick brought nothing tangible for Luton.
The Hatters went ahead in the 17th minute through Mick Harford’s fifth goal of the season. Harvey was involved in the build-up and it was a neat flick by Stein which created the opening for Harford.
This was the way it stayed until half time, although it took only a few seconds in the second half for City to come up with the equaliser. The scorer was Curle Who flung himself into a mass of bodies to net.
Dreyer, put Luton back in front from a corner by Preece in the 56th minute. But their joy was short-lived, four minutes later, Quinn cracked home a tremendous right foot volley which gave Chamberlain no chance. Quinn could have given City the points a few minutes later but it was Luton who finished the stronger with Harford heading over from a good position and Stein also going close.
No one can say how much closer he would have gone a few minutes later had Redmond not chopped him down.
