PETER GARDNERS VERDICT IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS FOOTBALL PINK FINAL 3RD MARCH 1973 Sloppy City crashed to a humiliating defeat at Molineux, where Wolves cashed in on a side reeling from a cup hangover to score an avalanche of goals. It was a disgraceful display by the Blues, who had no answer to the drive and marksmanship of Derek Dougan and the highly rated John Richards. Without Mike Summerbee and Francis Lee City were only a shadow of the side that had played so well in recent months. It was a nightmare for Mike Brennan to make his League debut on such an occasion, for no City player emerged from this cruel mauling with his reputation untarnished.
