Yet City, in fact, were never outplayed. They produced some clever play and attacked Albion on every opportunity, pushing as many as seven men forward whenever possible. Perhaps this was City’s downfall. Albion counterattacked brilliantly and four of their five goals arrived after a City attack had broken down.
