FROM THE OTTAWA JOURNAL 26TH MAY 1980 Striker Trevor Whymark scored a hat-trick Saturday to pace Vancouver Whitecaps to a stunning 5-0 Transatlantic Challenge Cup win over England's Manchester City. Two of Whymark's goals came in the first 11 minutes and both were headed in from crosses on the right. He added his third goal in the 77th minute with a left foot drive from just inside the penalty box on the left.
