KEVIN REEVES SCORES CITY'S 2ND AND 3RD GOALS

Swansea had been using an unusual 3-5-2 formation that teams had struggled to work out, however terrifying wing play from Dennis Tueart and Tommy Hutchison tore Swansea's tactical blueprint apart. The performances of City's wingers was underpinned by the mercurial Trevor Francis who bouyed the whole City team with his £1m pound display. It was surprising that it took so long for City to open the scoring, a penalty from Tueart, after Stanley had handled a Kevin Bond header in the area five minutes before the interval. After the interval Tommy Hutchison was on fire, and after hitting the bar, when perhaps he should have scored, just after the half hour his cross from the right was dispatched into the net by Kevin Reeves. The immaculate Francis was the creator of the last two City goals, Reeves with a superb header from a Francis cross, then from a pass by the £1M man, Tueart drove the ball into the net despite Davies' efforts to save. The only downside was the tradgedy of losing Tommy Caton who left the field with a broken collar bone before the hour.
