STEVE MCHUGH WRITING IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS FOOTBALL PINK FINAL 2ND JANUARY 1988 Manchester City's disastrous run of home results continued against Shrewsbury Town at Maine Road today. They slumped to their fifth successive home defeat, despite taking a 20th minute lead through a Paul Lake penalty. The Blues were never comfortable, and paid the penalty for a sloppy performance when Dave Moyes struck twice for Shrewsbury within the space of five minutes in the second half. And Doug Bell (89 minutes) made it a 3-1 humiliation for City.
