MATCH REPORT FROM THE DAILY STAR 13TH OCTOBER 1988 Manchester City's talented youngsters came bouncing back after wobbling on the brink of an amazing defeat at Home Park last night. In a topsy turvy tie they stormed into a 2-0 early lead, only to throw their advantage away in a crazy spell of hapless defending. And with the aggregate scores level at 3-3 Plymouth looked favourites to complete a sensational recovery, despite the fact that Tommy Tynan missed a 23rd minute penalty. ... City under incessant pressure in the second half, finally broke out of jail for Paul Moulden to round off a sweeping five man move to regain the initiative in the 74th minute. Neil McNabb hit an 81st minute penalty after John Matthews knocked substitute Jason Beckford off his feet. And with the referee adding on five minutes of injury time Paul Lake and Gleghorn took full advantage to make it six.
