STEVE MCHUGH WRITING IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS FOOTBALL PINK FINAL 19TH FEBRUARY 1983 Manchester City's troubles piled up when they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to lowly Notts County at Maine Road. A goal nine minutes from time by Justin Fashanu, ex-£1M Nottingham Forest striker who moved to County for just £150,000, sank the Blues. And that represents a disappointing start to his City managerial career for John Benson, who saw his side crash 4-0 at Coventry last week in his first match in charge.
