KEN GORMAN WRITING IN THE DAILY STAR 14TH NOVEMBER 1979 Supermac returned in triumph to Geordie-land last night. Malcolm MacDonald played in a testimonial match for former colleague Iam McFaul and blasted Newcastle ahead after 22 minutes following a typical barn-storming run. McFaul played the first half himself, and his team-mates gave him just the tonic he needed by beating First Division Manchester City 4-1. Peter Withe, John Connolly and Terry McDermott, scored United's other goals, with Roger Palmer notching City's.
