Goals by Gordon Turner and Reg Pearce, the latter following a 40 yard dribble, gave them a deserved 2-0 lead. Even when Luton lost Full Back Seamus Dunne through injury with 35 minutes to go, the City attack couldn't get functioning against the ten men, and many fans... began to drift away despondently. There were 60 seconds to goal, a 0-2 defecit to face, and City pulled off an amazing rescue act. In the 89th minute striker Billy McAdams reduced the arrears and with one minute Colin Barlow slipped in the equaliser with the last kick of the game. About 50% of the crowd had already left, though after the roar greeted McAdam's goal some of them started filtering back. ADAPTED FROM THE CITY PROGRAMME 14TH MAY 1983
