WALLACE MOORE WRITING IN THE DAILY RECORD 7TH APRIL 1986 Bobby Glennie gave Dundee a draw in his testimonial game at Dens Park yesterday, at the second attempt. In an extraordinary start to the second half of a highly entertaining match, the Den's defender twice stepped forward to hit penalty kicks. City goalkeeper Eric Nixon dived to push away the first, awarded after Glennie's shot had been handled by Steve Redmond. But three minutes later Redmond tripped substitute Albert Kidd, and this time Glennie beat Nixon from the spot. The long-serving Dundee player, and the game itself, deserved a far better turn out than a disappointing 3,000. Billy McNeill's side took the lead in 15 minutes when Darren Beckford volleyed a David White cross past Bobby Geddes. Dundee top scorer Ray Stephen equalised in 27 minutes, controlling and turning on a Bobby Connor cross before shooting home. Four minutes before half-time Gordon Davies scored the best goal of the game. Despite being clearly fouled Jim Duffy, he continued forward and beat Geddes with a superb angled shot into the top corner.
