Shaleum Logan and Gelson Fernandes were given first team debuts in a Blues side with just an average age of 23. With Mpenza and Bianchi working together well up front it wasn't long before City went ahead with an impressive 17th minute left footed strike from Mpenza. City were in control for virtually all the first 45 minutes but squandered several chances, and Bristol took advantage of this as Orr equalised in the 69th minute. It was left to £8.8m striker Rolando Bianchi to clinch the tie for the Blues, lashing in a 20 yard effort just 9 minutes from time.
