FROM THE PRESS BOX

Blackpool, pipped on goal average for promotion from Division Two last season, dented the pride of League champions Manchester City, centre-forward White scoring the only goal for the seaside team. City were dangerous in breakaways, but failed to finish, and Blackpool went on to create a new club record of 20 games without defeat. FROM THE NEWCASTLE JOURNAL 26TH SEPTEMBER 1968
