FROM THE PRESS BOX

FROM THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS FOOTBALL PINK FINAL 5TH APRIL 1980 Manchester City, battling for their First Division lives, earned full marks for a battling show against Stoke City at the Victoria Ground. And they were lucky not to go in at the break with a lead, with Stoke keeper Peter Fox making fine saves from Dennis Tueart, last week's two-goal star against Bolton, and £1 million striker Kevin Reeves. They kept up the pressure in the second period, with Steve Daley and Kaziu Deyna also going close to breaking the deadlock.
