BELOW DAVID WHITE RECOUNTS HIS CITY DEBUT

shades of blue David White
I was named among the substitutes alongside Paul Moulden. After half an hour Brighty received a bad knock and once Frizz had given me the nod to strip off my track suit I was crossing that white line and making my much yearned for debut. Watching proudly from the stands was my father.
…. I don’t remember too much about the game, it was a 0-0 draw, other than experiencing that ‘nobody can ever take this away from me’ feeling.
I was buzzing on the coach back home, delight that I’d achieved my lifelong dream to play for City’s first team, and aware that dad would have been cruising up the M1 experiencing exactly the same emotions.
