NEDUM ONUOHA KICKING BACK FROM NEDUM ONUOHA, KICKING BACK
… My Manchester City debut was against Bury in a friendly… and I don’t really remember it. As it was the first game of pre-season, the whole team was changed at half-time, and I came on for the second forty-five minutes. I think I’d been given a squad number, which was a thrill (even if it was up in the forties somewhere), and the match finished goal-less, so I must have played well enough for us not to concede. What I do remember is how I felt afterwards. I felt like I had just played for Manchester City, and that it really mattered. Nothing had been guaranteed up until this point, and I had no idea what was to come, but I’d played for City’s first team. This was special, and the first step on a whole new path. I never expected it to happen, but that’s where I was, at the age of seventeen, and it was exciting
